When I was only 3 years old, my mom introduced me to interpretive dance, which I loved every second. I started ballet when I was a child and kept at it for 4 years.
I began to develop an interest in social dancing in my teens, my conservative circle was less enthusiastic, but I couldn't stay away. There was something about the artistic expression and community that kept calling me back. I dabbled on and off for years, mostly in the Latin social scenes.
After I met and married Phil, I was so pleased to learn so much about dance that I didn't even know I didn't know. Suddenly, the art-form made so much more sense and the possibilities expanded rapidly. After assisting him in teaching a few couples dance in-person, I was so excited.
Watching a couple with no dance experience move together with such play and confidence after only a few lessons felt so meaningful to me. Offering couples a way to come together and play, celebrate, or even process challenging experiences together is why I'm most passionate about sharing dance.

I always enjoyed bopping to music as a kid, but my first true immersion into dance was at age 9, through Contra Dance. The ballgowns and top hats transported me back to another time and place. It was a magical experience, and it ignited my love of the art.
Swing and Ballroom furthered my appreciation at 13. Swing opened my eyes to play and creativity. Ballroom introduced the thrill of confidence through performances and competitions.
2 years later, I was invited to train as a Ballroom instructor, after which I began to teach. Coming from a family of educators, I was hooked immediately. As a passionate teacher, I longed to empower my students to dance creatively and playfully. Ballroom was not a suitable space for that. My enthusiasm for Ballroom gradually faded as a result.
The Social scenes began to awaken my passion again- Latin, African, and Brazilian styles introduced me to many dances with creative depth where I could help my students develop the three C's: connection, confidence, and community. Dance has an incredible power rejoin people to one another and to the roots of human expression.
Several years later, Natasha and I began exploring the principles of human instinct for ourselves, and discovered an amazing secret. Anyone can dance, only those who choose not to are deprived of its rewards. This principle continued to reveal itself as we shared our insights in our teaching with other students, and they too proved it was true.
Now, we both love having the privilege to share instinctive dancing, and its benefits for wholesome connection, with couples all over who may have always wanted to dance, but never believed fitting it into their daily routine could be possible.
